WHAT IS INVOLVED IN A TREATMENT?

The First consultation involves an in-depth intake and diagnostic questioning followed by treatment. All information gathered is under Privacy laws and are in strict personal confidence between you and me. You, and only you, have the right to access your records and decide if I am to give information to anyone on your behalf.

Depending on your complaint, or reason to come to see me, I will often combine Therapeutic Massage followed by Acupuncture to treat your concerns.

Herbal cream, balm or lotions for external use or Herbal medicine for internal use will be given after working out with you and knowing what other medication you currently might be taking.

Advice on what to do as home care, exercise, diet and other advice I will also give.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY TREATMENT?

Generally, you will leave feeling better to some extent and more relaxed. It is hard to give a blanket answer to how much improvement or how long or many times needed to treat your problem as every condition and person is different. But having said this, I find 4 – 5 treatments will make a considerable difference and let us know how to better manage your condition.

Any questions or queries I will endeavour to answer at the time or get back to you with the information I have researched if I don’t know.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO OR BRING TO MY TREATMENT?

Any Medical tests, Blood tests, Scans, X-rays or other Diagnostics that are related to your problem, or area of concern to you, please bring for me to see.

A genuine want to feel better and an open and positive attitude also helps.

DRY NEEDLING AND ACUPUNCTURE, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

An Acupuncturist who performs Acupuncture is well trained, with at least 4 Years of University Degree level education in Chinese Medicine and many hundreds of hours of clinical training.

Dry Needling uses the same Acupuncture Needles but the training in their use is often quite short and has very little Chinese Medical theory.

IS ACUPUNCTURE PAINFUL?

Acupuncture is not painful but some feelings are felt.

Acupuncture needles are solid and very fine, about the width of a human hair, most commonly 0.25 mm in diameter.

Often there is no sensation or brief prick as the needle is inserted. The general needling sensation is usually one of slight heaviness, numbness, distention, tingling, movement or warmth.

This is your Body's reaction to the needle which is part of the therapeutic effect.

People often relax quite deeply and may feel drowsy and even sleep when the needles are in.
